Cleethorpes Motorshow 2007 Report.
THE AMOUNT RAISED SO FAR THIS YEAR IS...

Yes it finally did take place and after all our efforts it was worth it.
So here’s what happened!

The flooding of our originally booked grounds was the reason for the show being postponed right back in June. It was re-scheduled for July but once again was postponed as the council considered the grounds to unsuitable for our show. We didn’t feel the grounds were a concern but after negotiations with several different members of the council we were still unable to have the grounds. So once again it was postponed to 26th August.

The race against time began! We just had to find a new venue. A friend of ours called Cliff put us onto a guy who was totally amazing. He sorted a venue for us and after a lot of hard work and time the rest just fell into place.

The weather was kind to us too, which brought a lot more people through the gates than we expected.

The show was a huge success and we would like to thank everyone who stood by us all the way and all those that came to help with set up and take down!

We had quite a few of our traders pull out of the show last minute due to the venue change, so we would like to thank the ones that had faith in us:

Appleby’s Ices
Chiltern Auto Tints – Window tints.
Thurlby Motors – Vauxhall dealers
Audio Island – In car audio builds.
Shine On - Valeting products.
George Petch Wheels –  Honda & Suzuki Motor Bike Dealers.
Elevated Eye – Aerial photos taken by a telescopic camera.
Big Cat Technologies.

Big Cat Technologies had a Play Station driving challenge and the winner was to win a brand new PS3 supplied by Big Cat themselves.
The winner was: Damon Law from Lincs Torque.

Rob Hallam - aka ‘Rev Bob’ from Men & Motors T.V came with his film crew to interview exhibitors and members of the public. The footage filmed at the show is to make a DVD to be sold to any exhibitors or visitors of the show. All the proceeds from these DVD’s will also be donated to ‘When You Wish Upon A Star’. The DVD’s are on sale via the website

As the time drew closer to our new date, it was becoming quite clear that there may have been a possibility that the council grounds would still not be suitable as the council had rented the grounds out to a horse show which after a bit more rain totally ruined the grass inside the grounds. We were assured that the grounds would be totally ready for our show and told not to worry. As you can imagine we did worry as we could see little progress happening on the grounds and when the work was eventually started, it was apparent that only a miracle could make the grounds suitable! So after a site visit on the Monday before the show we decided that the grounds were totally unsuitable but just knew we couldn’t cancel the show again! We needed the show to go ahead for the sake of our chosen charity When You Wish Upon A Star and Jo who had slogged her guts out doing and redoing all the tickets ,passes and other clerical bits and bobs!

The clubs that supported us were:

Y.F.O.C
Evo Nuts.com
Lincs Torque
Revv’d Up.com
Donny Cruise
Gloyn Boyz
Jap Torque
Skyline Owners Club.com
Vectra Sport Owners Club
Vauxhall Sports Car Club
Astra Owners Network
Skyline Owners.com
Modded Madness
R.S Owners club

So a BIG thanks to you guys for coming and spending the day with us – you are top blokes and no doubt you will be with us again next year!

There were plenty of trophies up for grabs again this year for both the visiting club members and the Max’d Car Club members.

Rev Bob and Miss Grimsby Telegraph winner Jade Dundridge awarded these trophies to the winners.

The voting was simple but fair as all entrants at the show voted for each other’s cars. The Max’d Car Club members judged all the visiting cars on display and all the visiting club members judged the Max’d Car Club cars. The votes were counted by three different people to ensure the votes were counted correctly.

THE BEST IN SHOW MAX’D CAR CLUB CAR WAS AWARDED TO:

Phil Fletcher with his Toyota Celica

The Daz Brown Memorial Trophy.

We have a very special trophy that is awarded to a Max’d Car Club member every year by the Father and Nephew of a special friend and a Max’d Car Club member who was tragically killed on the eve of our show a few years ago.
Daz’s Nephew George chooses a different member each year to be awarded this trophy to.

THIS YEAR GEORGE’S PERSONAL FAVOURITE WAS:

Sarah Sharp with her Renault Clio.

Sarah is the first female to have won this trophy so she was a bit emotional to say the least when she was awarded it!
