Cleethorpes Car Show

The 5th annual Performance and Modified Car Show June 2005.
In aid of When You Wish Upon A Star.

The Show

Again we return to Cleethorpes Show Ground for our 5th Performance & Modified Car Show. Both days were enjoyed by all but the Sunday was our busiest day as usual with over 90 cars on show and the gate figure being higher than in previous years. The weather was on our side for most of the time but a bit of sunshine would have been nice.

Saturday night was one to remember as the smoke machine was the center of attention when we used it for mischief. The look on Anna'a face was priceless when we all watched her discover a mass of smoke bellowing out from the tent which housed her very cherished Nova. It didn't stop there as we then decided to smoke out as many tents as possible, even one with Craig trapped inside. Still not content a group of us decided to have a go at twister which I'm sure is easier than it looks. Then one of us thought it would be clever to start racing about on a space hopper, 15 stone and a bad landing led to a few bruised ribs, so no end of fun had. The barbeque was fantastic and provided more than enough food to feed the five thousand with all the excess burgers, all of us where well stuffed. The fridge and electrical hook up kept the beer chilled into the early hours of the morning, well until the lamps in shaun's floodlights decided to give up. All in all a great night.

Trophy Awards & Raffle

Many trophies were up for grabs on the Sunday for both the Max’d Car Club members as well as the visiting clubs members. Our Daz Brown memoriam trophy was presented to a very shocked!!!!!! Mick Welsh with his Vauxhall Cavalier. This year Daz’s nephew George judged all the cars and he said “in his opinion the car he chose was well worth the trophy just for all the colour co-ordinating under the bonnet alone”. He also said “he was amazed just how many hours had gone into the car personally by Mick”. Each year this trophy is returned on the day of the show by the winner and is then presented to another of our Max’d members. So keep it well polished Mick :o).

There were also other trophies/prizes that were donated by:
Paul Jackman – The Book People
Chris – Autoglym
Alan – Alan Wood Plumbing
Lee – Big Cat Technologies
Paul Cowan – Mac Tools
Paul Hardy – Snap-On-Tools
