What can I say, after last years party which went down in the hall of fame
for being the best party ever, we knew that to top it something extra special
had to be done this time. Ideas were passed around until it was decided that
fancy dress (always a good start) in the style of 'super hero's' was what
we needed. Several weeks before the party members were being hush about their
choice of Hero and nobody had any idea how many would be in fancy dress.
When Wonder Woman and me arrived we learned of a new bread of 'Super Hero',
forget your Superman's and Spiderman's this hero is needed the world over
and he goes by the name of 'Super Spanner'. That's right, the man that works
in his garage to get your car's through their MOT and keep them in Tip Top
condition had revealed his real self but can his unique power's match those
of Batman & Robin.
As The night got to a start we were presented by a second Batman, luckily
he got on very well with his double. With all the Hero's mixing together
to discus world peace the rest of us where sampling the excellent spread
and drinking plenty to boot. Later into the night the heat was on to see
who could win the trophy for 'Best Dancer' with the Hero's battling to win
best outfit wich made Batman's eye's start foaming at one point but he was
ok in the end.
The trophy for 'Best Outfit' went to Wonder Woman for the completely hand
made costume (trust me a lot of effort went into that). The trophy for 'Best
Male Dancer' was awarded jointly to Paul Jackman (Batman) & Matthew Clegg
with the trophy for 'Best Female Dancer' being awarded to Dawn Bagshaw (Wonder
Woman) for strutting their stuff and setting the standard for the rest of
us. After some seriously crazy dancing and drinking the night came to an
end. Overall It was a fantastic night and every effort was made by all to
ensure once again it made the hall of fame for the best party ever. Big thanks
to everybody that made it and especially to Jo for making us a killer buffet
fit for Super Heros.
